1972 Vanden Plas 1300 Princess

Here we have a beautiful 1972 Vanden Plas in Harvest Gold with an Austin engine. It is known at the 1300 Princess Model. As you can see from the pictures, this car is in outstanding condition. No expense has been spared looking after this car across the years and it shows. She is in the same condition underneath as she is on top and I would put her in the A1 condition. The clock shows 68,737 miles which I am assured is correct and she has been cherished all her life. The Vanden Plas 1300 remains quite an attractive design and is becoming more sought after — this is a rare chance to own a classic car of excellent pedigree. She is not an expensive vehicle and offers an ideal and practical entry into classic car motoring. It has an MOT until October 2009 and is beautiful. The bodywork on this car is outstanding with perfect paint work. I don't believe I have ever seen such a great outstanding original car and she drives "like butter," as my wife says...i.e., very smooth, no hesitation in starting and stops on a dime. It is a very comfortable car in which to ride.

Some 30 years ago, I owned a 1959 Austin Princess limousine, with an aluminum body, hydraulic jacks which raised the car's all four wheels off the ground at one time, jump seats, etc. It was a huge car — it also ran like a top and had the same wood trays that pull out of the back of the front seats that this one does. This car is fashioned in the same manner (although smaller) and I like to call it a "poor man's Rolls Royce Limousine" that is very affordable. If you buy it you will not be disappointed with its quality and efficiency of running the vehicle. It is a very sharp looking car. It also gets over 35 miles per gallon of gasoline!

It is my intention to describe my cars as accurately and exactly as I see them. Please remember we are dealing with classic cars here — the motoring equivalent of antiques — and that all vehicles are sold strictly as seen. Should you elect to purchase without viewing, that is fine, but viewing is welcomed. No warranty is given, or implied.
